The Steel Valley trail

Went on a bike ride yesterday to scout out the way to Mckeesport.  I was thinking I’d have to go past Kennywood and through Duquesne and that road sucks.  I did end up doing all of that, but not on the road at all thanks to the brand new trail from Homestead to Mckeesport!  The last 6 feet in Homestead aren’t finished yet, but the rest of it is beautiful. You can see the Carrie furnace and Braddock, you go under the Steel Phantom in Kennywood, and it has some great bridges over train tracks and over the Monongahela.  The only possibly bad thing is the surface is asphalt so eventually it’ll get bumpy and broken and hard to fix, but right now it’s smooth and wonderful.
